Block Up Converters
A Block Up Converter is most commonly used in the transmission (uplink) of satellite signals. It converts a band (or "block") of frequencies from a lower frequency to a higher frequency. It is typically distinguished from BUCs by being a high performance solution that is mostly used in Earth Stations where performance and RF monitoring throughout the RF path is required.
Block Up Converters convert IF signals from the L Band to the carrier frequencies in (most commonly) C Band, Ku Band, DBS Band or Ka Band.
Block Up Converters use high performance Phase-Locked Loop (PLL) Local Oscillators and have integrated high stability 10 MHz frequency references but also allows for an external reference to be used.
Accutronics offers Block Up Converters either in standalone form or as part of a Redundant Block Up Converter System.
